Glenorie Public School: Celebrating Education Week with Grandparents Day!

Glenorie Public School celebrated Grandparents Day with a lively and heartfelt celebration, drawing families across the community to share in a showcase of student talent and creativity.

This year’s Education Week theme, Ignite Your Potential, set the tone for the event, highlighting the curiosity and confidence that schools aim to instil in young learners. Across classrooms and performance spaces, students demonstrated those qualities through dance, music, and classroom activities that reflected their growing skills and individuality.

Teachers and staff say the day offered a valuable opportunity to recognise the school’s commitment to fostering each child’s unique strengths—an ethos clearly on display as students presented their work and performances to an appreciative crowd.

A highlight of the event was a special tribute to grandparents, acknowledging their support and influence in their grandchildren’s lives. Principal Rebecca Wallace paid warm tribute to the visiting family members, describing them as “living storybooks, rich with memories and wisdom,” and thanking them for the important role they play in the school community.

With strong attendance and an atmosphere of celebration, Glenorie Public School’s Education Week Open Day was widely regarded as a success, strengthening community connections and leaving students and families with memories that will last well beyond the day.
