Glenorie TV Stars
A Glenorie Fire Truck has been spotted on TV! On January 5th Glenorie along with multiple other brigades in the district attended an incident at Tuff Hill Lane, Maroota South. A television crew from the Cannel 10 show Ambulance Australia captured footage for the show which aired recently. The episode can be viewed on 10 Play which shows raw footage of the Fireground. You may even spot some members and trucks from our local area!
Always Training
After some rest over the Christmas period training is now back in full swing. We have one member from Glenorie attending the Village Firefighting course to bring more expertise to the brigade. This course increases skills for a diverse range of incidents. We have also recently carried out pumping exercises at the station as well as a joint structural training exercise with Hillside Brigade. Over the coming weeks we have our First Aid course also.
Torrington Deployment
Once again one of our members has been deployed to an out of area fire. During March Firefighter Col was deployed to a large fire near Torrington in Northern NSW as part of a composite crew with Round Corner Fire Brigade. The fire had burnt over 5000 Hectares when Col arrived. Due to the hard work of all the Firefighters that attended the fire has now been brought under control. Here is a picture taken from the Fireground.
