Glenorie Public School’s Term of Activities and Learning

Glenorie Public School has been buzzing with activity this term, as learning has extended well beyond the classroom through performances, excursions, and outdoor challenges that highlight the breadth of opportunities available to students.

The school hall was transformed into a storybook kingdom on Friday, 14 November, for a spirited production of Cinderella. The performance was the result of months of preparation, with teachers and students dedicating countless hours to scriptwriting, costume-making, prop construction and rehearsals. On the night, the cast demonstrated confident command of dialogue, choreography and stage cues, delivering a polished and energetic show. Choir members, dance groups and the school band added depth and colour to the production, creating an evening that stood out as a highlight of the school year.

Younger students were also learning beyond the school gates, with K–2 classes visiting the Australian Reptile Park. The excursion offered hands-on learning experiences with reptiles and native animals, encouraging curiosity and a deeper understanding of living things. Interactive talks and close-up observations kept students engaged throughout the day, supported by parent volunteers who helped ensure the excursion ran smoothly and safely.

Stage 3 students participated in a multi-day camp at The Great Aussie Bush Camp in Tea Gardens, with a focus on resilience, teamwork, and personal challenge. Activities such as bushwalking, raft-building, and orienteering tested problem-solving skills, while the giant swing and flying fox challenged students to step outside their comfort zones. Teachers accompanied the group, guiding students through the experience and fostering confidence and independence.

With a strong emphasis on both academic learning and personal development, Glenorie Public School continues to provide an environment where students are known, valued and encouraged to reach their potential. Enrolments are currently open for Kindergarten to Year 6, with families invited to contact the school office for further information.
