Glenorie Progress Association says “thank you” to Mayor Dr Peter Gangemi

The Glenorie Progress Association appreciates the interest and valuable insight our local Councillors from both Hornsby and The Hills bring to our meetings.

Both The Hills Mayor Dr Peter Gangemi and Deputy Mayor Clr Mitchell Blue are members of the GPA and attend meetings regularly where they listen to the concerns of residents and bring residents up to date on proposed developments within our area.

Prior to this current Council term, it had been many decades since a sitting Mayor attended GPA meetings or showed a personal interest in Glenorie. During his term as Mayor Peter, assisted by Mitchell, has worked tirelessly for our community. He has worked towards making Cattia Ridge Road safer, the Halcrows Rd intersection has been approved and is ready to start work in the very near future, as are the upgraded flood warnings for Cattai Ck.

Pic shows Peter in an onsite consultation with GPA President Di Coxon-Ellis and Committee Member Callum Hoogesteger

Peter worked to get the funding and work completed on our much-traversed pathway from Glenorie School to Les Shore oval, upgrades to the sports fields there and has secured funding for the upgrade of Ted Schwebel Park, to name a few. He has shown genuine interest in the local environment group attending Platypus and Koala interest projects and attended Bush Fire awareness programs. He and Mitchell both have lobbied the NSW state government for roads funding for Old Northern Road and the New Line Road Upgrade

We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Peter for his dedication to and genuine concern for our community through the GPA.

PAVERS, PAVERS, PAVERS The Paver project continues. It is lovely to see so many of the well-known historic family names starting to come through. It’s not too late to add your family name to this project. For more information go to our website: www.glenorieprogress.org or email [email protected]

If you would like to keep your finger on the pulse of Glenorie and have your say in the future development of Glenorie, please take a moment to join the GPA on our website. We meet at Glenorie RSL 2nd Thursday every month, dinner in the Bistro from 6pm and meeting downstairs at 7:15pm. Thanks to Glenorie RSL for your continued support of the GPA.
