Galston Rural Fire Brigade

Educating Our Next Generation
Fire can be frightening for kids and Galston Rural Fire Brigade jumped at the chance to help educate their students on fire safety.

All the kids keenly learnt on what to do in case of a fire and how to help their parents should they need to evacuate to safety.

They also got to see and hear what a firefighter looks and sounds like when donned in full breathing apparatus and to not be scared, of what sounds a lot like Darth Vader!

Wrapping up the day the kids got to ask all their great questions and had an operational tour of Galston Pumper with everyone getting the chance to extinguish a pretend fire with a real fire hose.

Thank you to Galston OOSH for having us as part of your Emergency Services School Holiday Program.

Get Ready Weekend
Get Ready Galston! After the past two years, we are looking forward to being out in the fresh air and getting to meet all the local residents. Our members will be available to offer some advice on how to prepare your family and your property for the upcoming fire season.

This year’s event is being held at Fagan Park on Saturday 17th September from 8am. We will be running a free sausage sizzle and will have the trucks on display along with some fun activities and give aways for the kids.

So pop down, say hi and grab a free sausage sandwich. Galston RFS is Getting Ready, are you?

Welcome to our new Captain
Galston Rural Fire Brigade recently had their AGM and with Captain David Simpson standing down, a new captain was elected. Congratulation to our new Captain, David Aslin. The brigade wishes your all the best in your new role.

We would like to thank David Simpson for his service as Captain over the past three years. With your first year as Captain you lead us through the 19/20 fires then through a pandemic, you truly deserve some rest and relaxation.

We must also congratulate all of our new and continuing office holders including our President, Greg Milne as we get set for the season ahead
