Glenhaven Oval is set to transform into a festive wonderland this Sunday, December 14, as the Glenhaven Carols by Candlelight returns to celebrate its 25th anniversary. This beloved event has evolved from a quaint neighborhood gathering into one of the Hills District’s largest community celebrations, drawing thousands of local families each year.
The Friends of Glenhaven Carols Committee highlighted this year’s milestone, marking a quarter-century of bringing residents together to embrace the joyous spirit of the holiday season. Organizers anticipate this year’s event will be particularly memorable, showcasing local talent and fostering community bonds.
Harvey Norman has returned as the Major Event Sponsor, providing invaluable support that has been instrumental in the event’s growth and sustainability over the years. Local businesses also play a crucial role in bringing the Carols to life, with sponsors including Louis Carr Real Estate, Kindalin, CertOne Building Certifiers, Eden Brae Homes, Locate and Map, Building Approval Solutions, and the West Pennant Hills Sports Club. The event has also received backing from The Hills Shire Council through its Community Grants Program.
Families can look forward to a new attraction at this year’s event, as Busy Izzy and Friends will kick off the festivities with a lively kids’ show at 4:15 PM. The main stage will feature a range of exceptional local acts, including popular performances from Sister2Sister, Jenna’s Singing School, the Hills District Pipe Band, the North West Wind Ensemble, and the Castle Hill RSL Youth Wind Orchestra.
As always, the Carols will embrace the spirit of community service, with on-site support from the Glenhaven Rural Fire Service and The Hills SES Unit. Attendees are encouraged to contribute a gold coin donation at the entry gates to support these volunteers.
Starting from 4 PM, visitors can indulge in a diverse range of food stalls, rides, and amusements. The highlight of the evening will be a special appearance by Santa, followed by the grand fireworks finale at 9:00 PM.
