Families Enjoy Bonding at Dural Scout Weekend Camp

Over the Father’s Day weekend, families from the Dural Scout Group came together for a lively and engaging Scout camp on a picturesque property in Maroota, enjoying the perfect spring weather. Around 50 adults and children pitched tents across the grounds, ready for a weekend of outdoor adventure and community bonding.

The camp offered a mix of challenges and entertainment, including a gyroscope, climbing wall, and strength tester, all carefully organised by the Scout leaders. Wide games and team activities kept participants active throughout the day, while a roaring campfire in the evening brought everyone together for storytelling and camaraderie.

One of the highlights was a thoughtfully prepared family dinner, which drew compliments from campers of all ages. Beyond the activities, the weekend provided a valuable opportunity for families to experience the core values of Scouting, fostering connections between parents, siblings, and young Scouts while introducing them to the methods and traditions that make Scouting unique.

Dural Scout Group welcomes boys and girls aged 5 to 25, with programs for Joeys (5 years), Cubs (8 years), Scouts (12 years), and Venturers (16 years). Families interested in joining can contact Phirooza at 0411 731 976 or phiroozab@gmail.com, or Simon at simon.edwards@nsw.scouts.com.au.
