EnvironMentors Program A Hit For Hills Students

1860 students from 17 schools across The Hills Shire were visited in February and March by the Keep NSW Beautiful EnvironMentors.

The EnvironMentors initiative is an incursion-based program that gives students the opportunity to learn about sustainable practices that are beneficial to our environment.

This year, the two focus topics of the EnvironMentors were ‘Schoolyard Harvest’ and ‘In the Bin.’

The Schoolyard Harvest topic teaches students how to grow and care for the garden, to think of how to become more self-sustainable in the backyard and giving students the job of planting and caring for potted plants in the classroom.

The In The Bin topic focused on the environmental implications of littering, sorting of waste and correct disposal.

The EnvironMentors program is a Keep NSW Beautiful Initiative.
