Education Week Open Day, saw students participating in a Book Character Parade, and an Honour Assembly

Once again Hillside students have excelled on the sporting field. The Touch Football Team is undefeated and has progressed through to the final knockout rounds later this term. A wonderful performance. Our athletics team has represented the school with pride at the Beecroft Zone Athletics Carnival. A number of our students and the mixed relay team have made it through to the Sydney North Carnival at Homebush. Outstanding performance by the whole team.

All students have a personal learning plan to ensure they are provided with every opportunity to reach their full potential. Teachers work collaboratively to devise activities to cater for the differing learning styles and abilities of each student. Whether it is one-on-one support for reading or the challenge of the Maths Olympiad Competition there are appropriate programs for every student. The small class sizes also make sure the students do not ‘fall through the cracks’, which sometimes can happen in schools with larger class sizes.

All of our Year 6 students have the responsibility of being school leaders. They organise and run assemblies, greet and give vote of thanks to all visitors, are the library monitors and regularly assist the teachers and staff. Every day you will find our Year 6 students ensuring the younger students are happy and have someone to play with during break times. Our students excel once in high school because of the tolerance, empathy and leadership skills they learn whilst at Hillside.

If you are looking for a school where your child is nurtured and given every opportunity to reach their full potential, then Hillside is your school. We are now enrolling for 2019.
