Dural Scouts Celebrate Venturer’s Training Awards Achievement
This month Dural Scout Group is pleased to advise that one of their Venturers has received two Nationally Recognised Qualifications through Scouts Australia, as their Registered Training Organisation. Alexis Taylor has been awarded a Certificate II in Workplace Skills and a Certificate II in Active Volunteering.
Qualifications through Scouting are issued at no cost to members and there are a whole host of qualifications that both youth members and adult members can attain. We currently have one Venturer, Alex Edwards, working towards his Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation and others also following Alexis’ example and undertaking their Certificate II in Workplace Skills. For those more creative types, a Certificate II in Creative Industries might be more their style.
The exciting news is that youth members need not limit themselves to Certificate II level qualifications, but they can then work towards Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications across both these areas as well as qualifications in Leadership, Project Management and Program Management. Scouting offers the youth of tomorrow a strong set of life skills from problem solving, teamwork and management skills through to first aid, adventurous activities and WHS skills.
