Dural Public School is excited to be involved in The Anxiety Project

The Anxiety Project is designed by psychologist, Michael Hawton and the NSW Primary Principals Association to assist Primary students to manage their anxious behaviour.

It is a large-scale, evidence-based project, delivered through a series of teacher-led cognitive-behavioural lessons and parent-led conversational techniques. These interventions are aimed at helping all children learn skills to manage anxious thoughts and feelings.

Our teaching staff, SLSO’s and administration staff have recently completed their six hours of training and later next term we will be holding training sessions for parents and carers.

Over the remainder of the year our dedicated team of K-6 teachers will be implementing The Anxiety Project lessons as part of our PDHPE Curriculum. Additionally, our SLSO’s and administrative staff will also be supporting our students manage anxious feelings by using research based conversational techniques.

Our school is excited to be part of this program to empower our students to develop resilience, confidence and emotional well-being.
