Dural Country Club Lawn Bowls Clubs turned 50

To celebrate both the Men’s and Women’s bowling clubs 50 th anniversary, a mixed super six carnival was held on Friday 12th August. Commencing at 9-00am in brilliant sunshine, The 84 players ( 28 teams of 3) involved enjoyed the conditions. Players came from all around the Hills area, as well as Hornsby, Warrawee, Beecroft , Ryde and Merrylands. The carnival consisted of teams of 3 players playing 6 games of six end triples. Each game lasted about 70 minutes and with only six ends, compared to a normal game of 21 ends, the players had to be on their game from the start. We would like to thank our sponsors of the carnival day, Living Choice Retirement Villages and Funerals of Compassion. Prize money was handed out to the first 6 place getters with the winning team receiving $960 and the sixth team $ 180. Dural Country Club Bowling clubs will again run a super six tournament next year and if you would like to be part of the action you are more than welcome to join the bowling clubs. The men play on Wednesdays and Saturdays and the ladies play on Tuesday and with the men on Saturdays. For free coaching or information, contact Robert 0411375580, for the men’s and for the women, Eileen 0423181635. Till next time, Happy Bowling.
