The Hills Shire Council is proud to host a series of Australia Day events tomorrow, with more than 10,000 locals and visitors expected to celebrate all they love about Australia.
We have three major events planned, including a citizenship ceremony, a pool party at Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre, and a grand celebration at Bella Vista Farm, which is located directly across the road from Woolworths headquarters.
Here are some details about our events:
- Waves Pool Party:From 10am to 3pm, there will be roving entertainment, a free sausage sizzle for the first 2,000 people, a DJ and a blow-up obstacle course in the 50-metre pool. Location: Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre, 44 Mileham Avenue, Baulkham Hills.
- Bella Vista Farm:From 4:30pm to 9pm, a Dorothy the Dinosaur & Friends show, food stalls, wool spinning demonstrations, sustainability workshops, Junkyard Beats performing with recycled materials as instruments, community stalls, a performance by Samantha Jade and community performances by local dance groups and cultural groups. A fireworks display will wrap up the celebrations. Location: Elizabeth Macarthur Drive. However, entry to the venue will be via Westwood Way on January 26.
- Citizenship Ceremony at The Hills Shire Council:This special Australia Day ceremony will take place at about 1pm, welcoming approximately 130 new Australian citizens. Location: 3 Columbia Court, Norwest.
