The high quality greens at the Dural club were appreciated by over 100 ladies who played in the recent fours carnival.
Sponsors Anglicare. Bendigo Bank and TJ Andrews were on hand to enjoy the play and explain their products. Lunch was enjoyed and in spite of all the good bowls played and the need of a countback to make the decision, Northmead, pictured with Bendigo Bank manager, Gary Mangan, won the day with Castle taking all three minor places.
Tom Trovato continued his winning way with a new partner Kevin Keene. They won the men’s drawn pairs defeating Nick Sheerin and Keith McGill in a tight game.
The Ladies Pairs Championship was won by Marelle Saunders and Leone Lesslie who defeated Ann Wilson and Christine in the final. Number seven for the winners whose skip Leone was recently awarded a certificate from Women’s Bowls NSW for her thirty years of umpiring including many years as a senior umpire. It is a special year for Leone when President Robyn Scoble presented her with a certificate from NSW Women’s Bowls for thirty years umpiring! What a great contribution!
