Arcadia resident Rosalind Carlson has shown not the slightest signs of slowing down in her 80th year, steering her female choir, the Carlson Chorale, towards first places in both the Sydney and Ryde Eisteddfods recently.
At the end of May the Carlson Chorale won Section 104 Small Voice Ensemble (Any Age) at the Sydney Eisteddfod held at the Concourse, Chatswood. With a mark of 93, the adjudicator Mr. Simon Kenway noted “Beautiful Musical Singing. Bravi tutti!!”
This win was followed at the end of July by wins at the Ryde Eisteddfod in Section 105 the Philip and Peggy Woods A Capella Choir and Section 106 the Ryde City Council Choral Award.
Adjudicator Mrs. Pamela Herring said the Chorale gave a “rounded recital program of excellent choral works.”
