The Persimmon Place

The Persimmon Place is located at Waddell’s Orchard, which has been family-owned since its establishment in 1889 as a citrus orchard. Anticipating market changes, Ron Waddell diversified the farm to focus on high-quality stone fruit and later introduced persimmons in the 1990s for their resilience. The orchard has since reduced from 56 acres to its current 10 acres, featuring 10 varieties of persimmons across three properties: Waddell’s Orchard, Norquay Farm, and Cranston’s Orchard. This legacy of sustainable agriculture continues near the city thanks to the vision of these pioneering families.
