Budgerigar Society of NSW Inc

Hills Branch members who are part of the team that make up the Senior Judges Panel namely, Andre Ozoux, Kathy Manton and Craig Buckingham, have been active on the judging circuit over the past few months, with their services in high demand. To become eligible for consideration as a judge; an exhibitor has to have had a number of years breeding and exhibiting budgerigars, having reached the status of an Open Exhibitor, ( graduating from Novice then Intermediate to Open ) to enable consideration for acceptance to train as a judge, along with passing a colour test.

Upon being accepted for training, the nominees move through the judging status as a Trainee then Cadet until graduating as a Senior Judge. Training is by means of theory and practical examination and until reaching Cadet Level, are not permitted to judge unless accompanied by a Senior Judge. Hills Branch judging ranks have diminished over recent times, with the retirement of Peter Dodd and Keith Nicholls and the recent passing of John Lipinski.

With Christmas nearly upon us, the Budgerigar Society has a break from shows and the associated judging until February, then the Easter Show in March. Judging appointments have been made for the Easter Show, with Andre Ozoux of Gladesville and Jim Baker of Moorebank accepting the honour.

Meetings of the Hills Branch has seen informative lectures and discussions over the past few months ( no meeting in December ) and Events Co-Ordinator, Ken Mitchell, has a line-up of speakers to visit the Branch in the coming months, as we move into the 2018 year. The customary Table Show of Budgerigars is held each month.

An invitation is extended to interestedCurrent persons to visit the Branch as an individual, family or partnership and enjoy the company of members, view and discuss budgerigars.
