Bendigo Community Bank Galston – Making A Difference in All Corners of the Community

STEM classroom at Cherrybrook Technology HS

The Community Bank Galston has been proudly sponsoring the community in many different ways so far this year and there’s still two months to go!

In February the Community Bank sponsored $8,000 to help the development of the Dural Community Garden, a project by the Dural Men’s Shed at The Centre. Emily Lambert, who is overseeing the project, stated, “We are so excited to have received a generous grant from Bendigo Bank, which will see us continue to establish our community garden and improve our plumbing and irrigation.

It will also contribute to supplying soil, plants, seeds, mulch, tools and so much more.” The garden is already providing a strong sense of community spirit as people volunteer their time and skills to ensure a wonderful space is created for people of the Hills District to cultivate connections… as well as vegetables!

In March, Branch Manager, Savio Pereira, and Chairman, Ralph Steele, attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new STEM building at Cherrybrook Technology High School, having sponsored $85,000 towards the benches and equipment to aid the lessons.

St Judes Anglican Church Dural held their Annual Winter Food Drive in July with the help of a $1,500 sponsorship from the Community Bank to assist in their collection of non-perishable items for people in Sydney who need extra food and hygiene support over the colder months.

Kenthurst Rotary Food Truck

In September, Galston  Bendigo Bank joined in the end of the season celebrations and presentations for the Kenthurst Football Club, the Hills Puma Football Club and the Hills Hawkes Junior Rugby Club having sponsored them $40,000 (over 4 years), $7,000 and $8,000 respectively. The branch also partnered with Kenthurst Rotary Club, donating $35,000 to help launch the Food Truck project that will serve the nourishment needs of the homeless in The Hills. These services will also extend into schools, beginning with Galston High School, to feed disadvantaged students hot meals once a month.

Stay tuned in the lead up to Christmas, there are still some wonderful community partnerships to come. If you’d like to continue to see more great sponsorships and partnerships helping to grow and nurture the local community, feel free to get in touch and support the bank.
