BENDIGO BANK KEEPS ON GIVING

Dural lady bowlers may have found a new bowler when Bendigo Bank staffer, Karen, came along to present a new set of bowls for the club’s use with new bowlers.

AFTER PRESENTING THEM TO PRESIDENT ROBYN SCOBLE with coach Judith Harris, and after few minutes’ instruction Karen took the new bowls to the green and was soon bowling along with a group of encouraging ladies. Apparently Karen and all the ladies on the rink had an enjoyable time and are looking forward to her return to continue the adventure. For all new bowlers, trained coaches are available to teach the basics of the game. (Contact 0421 315 074 or 0411 375 580 for the men’s and women’s coaches)

The final of the Triples Championship was played and won when Ruth Keene, Diane Trovato and Christine Fitzgerald defeated Marilyn Bonvino (sub. for Marelle Saunders), Elizabeth Whelan and Leone Lesslie. It was a fitting final and a send-off to Christine who has moved to Bribie Island in Queensland with husband Rob to continue chasing bowls glory. Many of the members stayed for lunch in Fedele’s fabulous restaurant on Chris’s last day.
