Ben Swims to Success

St Edmund’s College student and vice-captain Ben Paterson has had amazing success in and around the pool this year. Ben recently represented the NSW All Schools Swim Team at the School Sport Australia Swimming Championships.

Ben Swim To Success At School SportHe also had the honour of being appointed the NSW Multi-Class Team Captain – recognition for his outstanding performances, leadership qualities and kind personality. The NSW Team was made up of 158 swimmers, including able bodied and multiclass competitors.

As Captain Ben read the Oath and carried the NSW flag at the Opening Ceremony of the Championships. He helped organise the NSW team dinner and assisted other multi-class athletes competing in the carnival.

Ben displayed fairness, integrity and sportsmanship throughout the championships. He competed in the 50m Breaststroke and 100m Breaststroke (achieving a personal best) along with the 6 x 50m Freestyle relay, where he achieved a silver medal.

St Edmund’s College is a dynamic high school in leafy Wahroonga, which caters to students with special needs. The sport program is designed for students with a wide range of abilities, whether it be school-based or part of the pathway sport program. There is a swimming pool and sports field on the college grounds.
