A Volunteering Vision

Volunteers at Fagan Park come from all walks of life but they one thing in common… they are all passionate about our local heritage.

Over the past few months, the Friends of Fagan Park welcomed five new volunteers to their team. Pictured are two of our newest volunteers, Linda and Allan who have interests in gardening and general maintenance. They are always on hand to help around Netherby, the museums and extending a warm welcome to visitors.

Being a volunteer at Fagan Park provides a great opportunity to connect with people with shared ideas and donating one’s time, energy and resources is very rewarding.

It is certain that Samuel and Emma Fagan had a vision when they moved to galston in 1900 to develop a successful citrus growing empire. Now, it is the vision of our volunteers to engage the community by telling stories in ways that awaken a sense of place and belonging and to bring the heritage of Fagan Park to life for future generations.

If you have ever thought of volunteering, you are welcome to visit Fagan Park on a Tuesday… we would love to show you around. Netherby Homestead, the agricultural, mechanical and dairy museums are open every Tuesday between 9am and 4pm and every second Sunday of the month from 1pm -4pm.
