“Farvel Glenorie!”

Well-known local identities, Ulla Abdilgaard and Bjorn Hansen – Glenorie’s most loved dynamic Danish duo – are leaving the area and moving North to picturesque Smith’s Lake.

Readers will know Ulla from the Glenorie District Medical Centre, where she worked as Receptionist and Practice Manager for some thirteen years.

Her partner, Bjorn, is a talented photographer who has hosted many a portrait shoot of local families at their home studio and gallery. He has worked across Sydney for over three decades as a professional wedding videographer and photographer.

The pair also ran the eclectic UB Art Shack in Cairnes Road showcasing their individual and collaborative ‘fusion’ works of art.

After both undergoing treatment for cancer over the last four years, Ulla says it is time to move on and enjoy retirement.

Their new home will also accommodate a studio and gallery as well as a workshop where Bjorn hopes to continue his successful framing business. With their shared love of nature and creativity, they look forward to being inspired by the beauty of the lake and surrounding area to pursue further artistic endeavours.

Ulla says, “the hardest thing about the move will be missing all the beautiful people we have met and formed friendships with over the years, and of course our family and grandchildren.”

For last chance viewing of their art, or just to say goodbye, please give them a call to arrange a visit, or check out their website to stay updated.
