Strong membership growth and consistent participation have capped off a successful year for the Glenorie Probus Club, reflecting the enduring appeal of community-based social clubs in regional New South Wales.

The year’s final social outing brought members together for a spirited round of miniature golf. The activity provided both comic relief and friendly rivalry before the group gathered for lunch to reflect on the day’s efforts.
Earlier, members travelled to the Riverina town of Young for a three-day tour timed with cherry blossom season. Alongside visits to orchards and local museums, the group explored cultural and historic landmarks, including the Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre, one of the largest Japanese gardens in the Southern Hemisphere.
The club’s November meeting featured a presentation examining the life of a distinguished medical professional who held senior health portfolios, including Chief Medical Officer and Chief Health Officer, with service spanning the Northern Territory, Western Australia and federal administration. His career reflected decades of public service dedicated to improving health standards nationwide.
The festive season was celebrated with a Christmas gathering at Glenorie RSL, where a trivia quiz and seasonal entertainment rounded out the year.
Planning is already underway for 2026, with monthly meetings, guest speakers and tours forming the backbone of the program when activities resume in February.
The Club meets at 11.00 am on the 4th Wednesday of the month at Glenorie RSL, and new members are welcome.
