Proposal to Rename Peel Park Cricket Ovals Now Open

A proposal to rename two cricket ovals at Peel Park is now open for community feedback, with Hawkesbury City Council encouraging residents to participate in the consultation process.

The grounds at 92a Pecks Road, North Richmond, presently known as John Wellington Oval #1 and #2, would be rebranded as The Allan Carver Oval and The John Wellington Oval under the plan adopted by Council on 3 February 2026.

The naming proposal complies with the NSW Address Policy and User Manual and reflects Council’s commitment to community consultation before formalising place names.

If endorsed, the change would commemorate Allan Carver and John Wellington for their longstanding involvement in the advancement of cricket locally. Their contributions are regarded as central to building participation and sustaining the sport within North Richmond and the greater Hawkesbury area.

Residents have until 13 March 2026 to lodge submissions. Documentation outlining the proposal can be accessed through the Council’s website or viewed in person at its administration centre in Windsor during standard weekday hours.
