Education Shapes the Future of Our Young People

Education shapes not only what our young people know, but who they become. Across the Berowra community, schools play a central role in forming character, building skills and helping students discover their place in the world.

Whenever I visit local schools, I am reminded that education is not an abstract policy debate. It is lived every day by students, by teachers dedicated to their craft, and by parents making unseen sacrifices to support their children’s learning.

One of my priorities is ensuring every family has access to a high-quality education, whether they choose a government, Catholic or independent school. Strong communities depend on strong schools, and our system works best when students are supported to thrive.

Great teaching remains at the heart of educational success. Teachers inspire curiosity, perseverance and mastery, and they deserve policies that respect their professionalism and allow them to focus on their students.

Education must also prepare young people to participate confidently in our democracy, think critically, and engage respectfully with others. When we invest in knowledge, character and civic understanding, we invest in Australia’s future.

Our community’s students, families and educators are doing this work every day, and I am committed to supporting them.
