Apply Now for Hawkesbury’s Event Sponsorship Program

Community Sponsorship Program for 2025_2026

Hawkesbury City Council is calling on local event organisers to put their ideas forward for funding, with applications now open for its annual Event Sponsorship Program.

The program supports community events that bring people together, showcase the region’s rich heritage and help drive the local economy. Applications open on Saturday, 1 February and close on Friday, 28 February 2025.

In recent years, council backing has helped deliver a wide mix of events across the Hawkesbury, from the Hawkesbury NAIDOC Ball and the Walk Ride Run Against Domestic Violence to long-running favourites such as the Hawkesbury Show, Kurrajong Community Christmas Carols and the St Albans Village Market.

According to the council, the sponsorship program is aimed at fostering safe, well-run and engaging events that deliver lasting benefits for residents and visitors alike. Priority will be given to events that celebrate local history and cultural traditions, highlight the Hawkesbury River and surrounding natural environment, and strengthen town centres as lively community hubs.

Council is also keen to support events that build cultural life, encourage tourism, and create meaningful connections between local businesses, residents and the broader community. Organisers working across arts, culture, sport, education or heritage — particularly those with a strong focus on community wellbeing — are encouraged to apply.

Applications must be submitted online via the council’s website and should outline the event’s objectives, anticipated outcomes, sustainability measures and community benefits.

Event organisers can also access the council’s comprehensive Event Guide, which provides practical advice on planning and delivering successful public events in the Hawkesbury.
