Hawkesbury City Council has recently announced the release of a Draft Plan of Management for McMahon Park in Kurrajong, inviting the public to provide feedback until March 10, 2026.
This step is part of the Council’s obligations under the Crown Land Management Act 2016, which requires the development of management plans for all Crown Reserves.
The Draft Plan outlines a framework to guide the land’s future use, management, maintenance, and enhancement. Among the proposed improvements are upgrades to the Community Centre Precinct, enhancements to parking and arrival experiences, increased accessibility and connectivity within the park, expanded recreation and exercise opportunities, and initiatives to enhance the park’s ecological character.
The Draft Plan of Management will be available for public exhibition from January 27 to March 10, 2026. Residents can find the document and supporting materials on the Council’s website at www.yourhawkesbury-yoursay.com.au/exhibition-of-draft-plan-of-management-mcmahon-park-kurrajong.
For those who prefer a physical copy, it will be available at the Council’s Administration Building at 366 George Street, Windsor, during regular hours from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Community feedback is highly encouraged, with submissions available online via the website or by mail addressed to the General Manager at Hawkesbury City Council, PO Box 046, Windsor NSW 2756. This initiative aims to ensure that local residents have a voice in shaping the management of this important community resource.
