Man Charged with Nazi Salute and Assault – Epping

A man is scheduled to face court today following allegations that he performed a Nazi salute and assaulted another individual in Sydney’s northwest.

Authorities reported that around 6 AM on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, a 48-year-old man was driving along Carlingford Road in Epping when a black utility vehicle reportedly stopped in front of him. According to police, the driver exited the vehicle, made the offensive gesture, and assaulted the 48-year-old before fleeing the scene.

After conducting inquiries, officers from the Ryde Police Area Command arrested a 50-year-old man at an address on Cockatoo Road in Erskine Park around 10:30 PM. He was subsequently taken to St Mary’s Police Station, where he was charged with knowingly displaying a Nazi symbol in public without justification and common assault.

The man has been denied bail and is set to appear before Penrith Local Court today, Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
