Over the Fathers’ Day weekend, families from Dural Scout Group came together under sunny skies for a fun weekend of activities in Maroota, on one of our leader’s magnificent and picturesque property to give everyone a taste of a well organised and fun Scout camp.
Around 50 adults and children attended the camp on the weekend with tents spread around the ground. Fortunately, the weather was good, and all the planned activities could be held.
The yummy and thoughtfully prepared family dinner was a great success and enjoyed by all. There were various challenging activities set up by our wonderful leaders like the Gyroscope, Climbing Wall, Strength tester and many more. A huge campfire was lit at night and enjoyed by all. There were also some wide games that were played, and everyone had a fantastic time.
The weekend was an overall positive experience of bonding as a Scouting Community between individual families, while introducing parents and siblings to the Methods of Scouting. A big thank you to our wonderful leaders, parents and of course our Joeys, Cubs, Scouts and Venturers.
