Sydney Hills Gymnastics stormed to a record medal haul of 24 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals at the recent 2025 Australian Gymnastics Championships.
Their 14 Men’s Artistic Gymnasts (MAG) enjoyed phenomenal championships, highlighted by Luke Slemint (level 7 open), who was crowned All Around Australian Champion in his level.
Luke Slemint, Krishna Manoj, Moksh Gupta, Johannes Lindher and Ritam Malik won Australian Champion Apparatus titles while other athletes achieved podium places, NSW team medals and personal bests at the Gold Coast event.
Masha Indioukov and Jannah Ashour (Women’s Artistic Gymnasts), won five individual medals and were crowned Australian Champions on beam. This was the best performance in SHG’s history.
In acrobatic gymnastics, 16 athletes competed, with nine making their Nationals debut. They earned 13 podium finishes, with Harper Saab and Alina Ablamskaya winning gold for their balance routine. Ivy Davie and Elysse Inggall emerged overall Australian champions with their gold medal-winning combined routine in the International 12-18 women’s pair event.
“Watching our gymnasts achieve personal goals, support one another and succeed on the national stage is at the heart of what we do,” a club spokesperson said. “We are so proud of their efforts and inspired by their commitment to gymnastics.”
“Becoming the Australian champion in Level 10 on the beam was such a highlight for me,” said Masha, who has been doing gymnastics since she was one. “When they presented my medal, the presenter even commented on my smile – I just couldn’t stop smiling!”
‘I FELT SO PROUD’
Jannah, 10, has quickly progressed to senior levels since joining Sydney Hills Gymnastics in 2022.
“I was so relieved to get a medal – it was such a tough competition,” Jannah said. “When I was presented with my medals, I felt so proud. My mum was crying too.”
Harper and Alina brought home gold for their balance routine while Ivy and Elysse emerged overall Australian champions with their gold medal-winning combined routine in the International 12-18 women’s pair event.
“Watching our gymnasts achieve personal goals, support one another and succeed on the national stage is at the heart of what we do,” a club spokesperson said. “We are so proud of their efforts and inspired by their passion for gymnastics.”
The spokeswoman said their coaches played a big part in their success. Head coach Jillian Connor led the ACRO team, while Madie Romero and Lara Woods left their mark, coaching senior athletes at the national level for the first time.
The club said MAG coaches Vassili Trofimov, Yiheng Wang and Sasha Kazmahiakin were supportive while the WAG team was expertly coached by Marina Tatarchina and Evgueni Indioukov. It was Marina’s beam expertise which guided Masha and Jannah to their titles
“This achievement is more than just a milestone for our club, it’s a powerful moment for women in sport,” club director Vassili Trofimov said. “Head coach Marina’s leadership has not only made history for Sydney Hills Gymnastics but is also helping to shape the future of women in gymnastics.”
The club has centres in Castle Hill and Bella Vista.
