With this particularly cold winter weather upon us these warm, colourful quilts and knitted blankets (photo left) were a welcome sight for the Illawarra Refugee Program recipients who recently received our gifts through the Illawarra Red Cross.
The wonderfully bright, warm knitted blankets (within the photo left) were made by one of our longtime members who tirelessly works towards sharing her knitting talents with ‘those in need’ and we are proud to have such generosity within our group.
Our ‘member interviews’ are proving to be very successful. Last meeting a ‘new member’ shared her quilting journey with us. From quiet beginnings her hobby stitching has grown into beautiful quilts for family members and her very detailed, careful work was a joy to see (photo right). We as a group benefit from new ideas and from someone with a love of traditional quilting.
