THE QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY LONG WEEKEND saw a fantastic feast of sporting action as the Netball NSW family came out in force in Campbelltown for the HART Senior State Titles. Galston Netball Club were very proud to have three senior players; Isabelle Barker, Ashleigh Gammie and Ciara Kennedy represent the Hills District Netball Association in the Opens Team. Competition was fierce with their team placing in a highly commendable 4th in the State with an impressive 497 goals for and 334 against.
All 3 girls play in our A1 team who, as we approach the mid-point of the 2019 season, currently sit in first place on the ladder. Congratulations to all 3 girls on a fantastic effort.
A special mention as well to the coach of our U13 Division 1 team, Olivia Charlton, who also represented the Hills District at Campbelltown. Despite breaking her finger during one game, on her birthday no less, Olivia had a great tournament.
Coming up next up it is the turn of our junior players. We would like to wish our girls every success in the Junior State Titles being held at Baulkham Hills from 6th to 8th July. The Galston players representing the Hills District in the juniors are Sophie Hamilton-James in the U13’s, and Amelia Ho, Charli Davis, Chelsie Stollery and Sienna Cooper-Durant all in the U12’s.
Galston Netball Club fields teams aged 6 years to adult in the Hills District Netball Association winter competition and runs clinics for our younger players throughout the year. For further information please contact secretary. [email protected]
