galston community news

With Autumn now blessing us with milder sunny days and cooler evenings, the ladies from Galston CWA are busily creating, baking and organising stalls, with the aim of contributing our efforts to those in need.

We are eager to focus where we can the most effective. To that end we had a visit from Karen Lindley, an inspirational advocate, nationally recognised with an Order of Australia for her services to social welfare and business.

She has over two decades of voluntary work, supporting victims of child sexual assault, collaborating with legal teams, police and victim advocacy groups to secure justice and restitution.

A wonderful speaker, Ms Lindley inspired and educated us. We are now hard at work preparing for our Mother’s Day Stall on May 10th, outside the Bendigo Bank in Galston, from 9am to 1pm.

We will have some lovely handicrafts, home made jams & preserves and tasty baked goods and look forward to visitors. FYI our meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month in the Galston Community Centre, starting at 10am.
