With Anzac Day approaching and as part of Galston High School’s commitment to commemorating the service and sacrifice of Australians who have served in conflict, five students – Mei-Lin Meyers, Maddy Morris, Bowen Copeland, Theo Marlow and India Dalton – have documented the life stories and service histories of two retired servicemen from Rowland Village. The retired service men, Senior Reverend Richard (Dick) Udy and Reverend William Rosier, Principal Chaplain, RAN (Rtd), were the subjects for the ANZAC Project. The ANZAC Project entailed students carrying out interviews, editing the interviews into a video and creating a digital biography.
On Tuesday 26th March, Galston High School invited Rev. Udy and Rev. Rosier and their families to a morning tea and screening of the final video created by the students. The quality of the work of the students and the incredible stories that the retired servicemen shared created an emotional response from all that attended the screening. All viewers noted that the biographies took the viewer on a personal journey into the human face of conflict.
