Aaron Scully from The Hills Drama School in Glenhaven is making a feature film with all of his teenage students for SF3. This will be one of the first Sydney based feature films in this year’s Smart Fone Flick Fest finals (SF3) and the first ever from filmmakers under 18!
Aaron and his students are regular and prolific participants in this international festival (now in its 10th year!)
Entries are now open for the local Flick Fest gone global that puts moviemaking and story-telling in the hands of anyone with a smartphone or tablet!
SF3 has welcomed thousands of films from over 80 countries the past decade, with entrants ranging in age from 5 to 76. This year’s fest is set to be the biggest yet, with a slew of super cool masterclasses, partnerships and – as ever – rich prizes in their dozens up for grabs!
The live festival screenings will again be held in Sydney’s Hoyts Entertainment Quarter cinemas over the weekend of 15-17 November and the festive fun includes filmmaker networking drinks, VIP Red-Carpet Finals and Awards ceremony, the SF3 Kids Finals and Mini & Feature Film screenings.
Plus Masterclasses including a screen composing masterclass in partnership with the AGSC (Australian Guild of Screen Composers)! More than $50,000 worth of prizes are on offer including Black Magic Design gear, rigs, mics, apps, iPads, cash prizes and more. Well-know Director, Phillip Noyce said: “SF3 breaks down barriers.
This festival opens up the world of cinema to a vast untapped reservoir of talent. I believe everyone has a story worth telling. Now, more than ever, these stories can be shared with the world!”
