Arcadian Quilting

There are so many ways to work out in the Arcadian Quilting Community, we are almost spoilt for choice.

The Men’s Sheds for example, giving chaps contact with other likeminded fellows while as a group the toy repairs take place, the play equipment is created and all manner of woodworking skills are put to use.

For women who are interested in knitting, their skills produce those very popular knitted squares which become wonderful ‘Wrapped with Love’ blankets.

Our Quilts which make their way to Hospitals, Nursing homes, fund raising activities etc … and as we work through Red Cross we reach Refugees who relocate to Australia … the list can go on!!

Take a step in a new direction this winter and join a group, meet some new friends, enjoy companionship while having PURPOSE.

This month we quilters joined the many many organisations raising money for Breast Cancer.

We had our own ‘Biggest Morning Tea’ collecting $$$ while treating ourselves to delicious home made food. Proceeds are added to a local body collecting on behalf of the Breast Cancer Council.

We will be busy-bees again with bed quilts now that winter is knocking on our doors.

I find this a most rewarding hobby …
(a) because I just love sewing and this group gives me a real purpose,
(b) every quilt we create finds a home and we know ‘a-hug-in-a-rug’ goes a long way to someone else’s wellbeing
(c) we share great companionship within our group; this is not to be missed.

Consider calling in to see just what we do, perhaps sewing is an interest of your too??

We are currently meeting at the CWA Hall opposite the Fire Shed on Annongrove Road, Dural. We meet on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday of each month at 9.30am. For further information please call Carole on 9894 7749. Stay well,

Stay warm and stay in touch with your pals.
