With road access now available via Webbs Creek, residents can get to Wisemans Ferry for essentials via Webbs Creek ferry. Please note that Settlers Rd near the Lower Macdonald Brigade fire station is still closed to all traffic.
For those with access to boats, the Wisemans Ferry RFS pontoon can be used for short visits. They are happy for you to raft along the front of the pontoon and when doing so be mindful of tidal shifts and the impact this may have on other boats using the pontoon. Please don’t obstruct any of the emergency service vessels as this may hinder someone in need.
There are donations of food hampers, cleaning products (incl brooms, shovels, gloves etc) and other essentials coming in on a regular basis to the Recovery Centre at Wisemans Ferry (the Retreat) available for all flood-affected residents.
There are also various agencies there to assist including Service NSW, Hawkesbury Council, Services Australia, The Salvos, Environmental Protection Agency, Legal Aid, Department of Primary Industries and more. I visited the centre yesterday and there are tonnes of people there ready to help with whatever residents need. This recovery centre will only be operating for a few more weeks.
