News from Uniting Galston Early Learning Centre

Over the past couple months we have been working on our connections with the families and our outer community. We believe that by strengthening our connections within our community, we will be able to encourage our families to build strong connections for their children before they head off to school. To continue with our focus and team goal we started to plan trips out of the centre to local schools with the children and at the same time we planned to invite our families into our centre.

Firstly our trip to Arcadia Public School was a great success as we were able to participate in their Agricultural Day. The children were able to meet the principal and the kindergarten teacher while they had a go at milking a cow, holding some little chicks and feeding the sheep. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Arcadia Public School for the invitation and their hospitality as well as Paul Udy who drove the bus to and from the school.

When then had an outing to Galston Public School’s Cake and Fete Day! Throughout this morning the children, educators and some parents had the opportunity to walk up to the school to buy some cakes from the school stall. Yet again the children were able to say hello to the kindergarten teachers who were running the stall while also having a recess time with their school friends and siblings. Thank you for a great day Galston Public and we hope to continue to participate in these events in future.

After our planned outings, we held our Father’s Day sausage sizzle at the service. The afternoon encouraged many parents, carers and relatives to join us for the afternoon with the children to strengthen our bonds with the families. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to ‘Century 21 at Dural’ for their ongoing support and their hard work in preparing some Father’s Day gift bags for our families.

If you would like to come and have a look at the centre or ask any questions regarding our Educational Program please feel free to contact the Centre Director Daniela Balmer on 9653 1475.
