Glenorie Public School Fair
The brigade attended the school fair Sunday 18 September. The smoke tent gives a great example of how smoke builds up and why we “GET DOWN LOW AND GO, GO GO! Preparation for the coming fire season was our main theme for the day. If you would like to talk to a member about your property preparation and/or developing your fire plan, please call the station on the numbers below.
Lendlease Gardeners
A big thank you to the eighteen Lendlease personnel who came to our station Thursday 15 September to assist the brigade with a “spring clean” of our gardens and surrounds. They weeded and mulched for much of the day as part of their 21st annual Community Day. Everything looks lovely, much appreciated by us all.
Brigade Training
We have six new members currently doing their Bush Fire (BF) Training. They should be ready to respond in time for this season’s fire-calls. Three members have just completed off road driver training. This course had to be postponed earlier due to wet weather. Hopefully the late rains will also postpone the fire season giving everyone a little more time to prepare.
Glenorie Public School Bush Fire Drill and Assmebly
The Principal, staff and children at Glenorie School take the practice of emergency drills very seriously and the brigade is privileged to assist. As always they did an excellent job, which should give parents and carers peace of mind knowing their precious children are in good hands should a bush fire threaten the school.
