From Senior Constable Mitchell

It is one week early but so many of our community will be on holidays already, and Christmas is just around the corner.
2021 has been a challenging year for so many of us, in so many ways. The personal and corporate challenges exceed so many from in the past.
We here at Kuring Gai Police Area Command thank you for your following and support. We have endeavoured to bring to you hints and tips about crime that is occurring in your suburb. Mix this with a bit of trivia and a little humour and you have the Kuring Gai Eyewatch page. Thank you for being a part of it all.
As you prepare for the Christmas festive season, stay safe; look out for yourselves, your neighbours, and your loved ones.

A few tips for you before the holidays

YOUR VEHICLE:
• Prepare your vehicle and ensure it is roadworthy if you’re driving away
• Check your tyre pressure levels, the water and oil levels in your car

• Plan your trip and take regular breaks if driving long distances

• Lock your vehicles whether away, at the shops or at home.

YOUR HOMES:
• Lock your doors and windows of your homes if you’re going away

• Keep your letterbox clear of mail if you’re away – have a neighbour clear it for you.

• Make your home looked lived in.

• Have a trusted neighbour park their car in your driveway so it appears that someone is home.

• Don’t leave a spare key hidden under a fake rock, a pot plant, under your front door mat or anywhere else you can think of.

• If you see or hear anything suspicious, please report it to us at the time or as close to the time as possible.

Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
