Brigade photos
A large gathering of Galston firies polished their boots and ironed their shirts to pose for our annual brigade photo. We had a great turn out for the photos, however, there were many more dedicated Galston firies who couldn’t make it on the day. All in all, everyone scrubbed up quite nicely.

Recent incidents
Galston FRB firefighters have attended several car accidents, a car fire, and a house fire recently. With all the wet weather we’ve had of late it’s worth reminding everyone to please drive safely and to the conditions, particularly through the Galston Gorge.

We also recently responded to a snapped power pole dangling in the middle of Calderwood Rd.

New Crew Leaders
Congratulations to the two new Crew Leaders who recently passed the Crew Leader training course. It’s great to add more competent and skilled firies to the ranks to help lead crews on callouts. We also have a few more members signed up to complete the next round of Crew Leader training.

Bush fire season draws to a close
April marks the usual end of the statutory Bush Fire Danger Period. However, sometimes the period is extended depending on the local conditions. While we can expect a lower bushfire risk as the weather cools down, everyone in bushfire prone areas should always be fire ready. Visit the RFS website or call the Bush Fire Information Line – 1800 NSW RFS (1800 679 737) for more information.
